Our Staff

  • GGEA President Andrew Cooley’s background includes five years of experience as a financial advisor, and over 15 years in all levels of esports, from playing professionally to coaching to management. He founded State of Mind Gaming prior to joining GGEA, and has guided and fostered teams and players through various states of their careers, establishing a strong foundation of insights into the mindsets and motivations driving esports aces and aspirants.

Given that, he believes that the environment around a player is just as intrinsically important as skills development – and can often be harder to come by. Mechanical and game knowledge will come from just playing the game, but team environment, communicative skills, and psychological fitness all contribute to peak performance, and are not as naturally fostered.

  • GGEA Recreation Director Nathan Nottke’s background includes nine years of experience as a member services and operations manager in traditional sports, and over 15 years of total experience in all other levels of the sports industry, from group ticket sales representative in the NHL, to Operations and Event Coordinator for US Youth Soccer. Prior to joining GGEA, he organized and ran multiple events for club and recreational youth soccer players from around the nation, to allow scouting opportunities for collegiate and national teams. He is taking that aspect of traditional sports and applying it to the esports world to help develop and help find the next esports professional.

  • Alex Wang brings over three years of esports team managerial experience, throughout multiple games and titles such as League of Legends, Overwatch, Counter-Strike and Rocket League. His accomplishments include qualifying for the Season 3 Rocket League World Championship, and helping to build OpTic LoL’s academy division. He seeks to help the next generation of esports talent through connecting with players and building positive relationships between the company and teams.
